GREAT TIPS:  7 Brilliant Tricks for a Sparkling Clean Bathroom.  Remember last week when I gave the tip about mixing Dawn dish washing soap with white vinegar to clean the shower?  Several readers reported they use the mixture and it works great so just as soon as my Scrubbing Bubbles is gone I will be doing it too.  It is also included in these tips. http://tiphero.com/bathroom-cleaning-tips/?

TIP:  Who doesn’t love a great omelet? I love to add ham, green peppers, onion, cherry tomatoes and cheese to mine.  And when it’s done (in 4 minutes or less!) I slather it with sour cream and avocado slices…WOW what a dinner with a piece of toast! Here is the Secret to a Fluffy Omelet  http://ask.metafilter.com/248710/Whats-the-secret-to-a-very-fluffy-omelette.  And if you love scrambled eggs here are 4 tips to make them fluffy.   http://tiphero.com/4-tips-for-fluffy-scrambled-eggs/.  I love to use the small fiskie to ship the eggs and the microwave omelet maker you can just wipe out when you are done so it’s an easy, no mess meal in minutes.

As I begin the newsletter this week, I am asking everyone to continue to pray for the families and town of Roseburg, Oregon to help them start the healing process of the horrific tragedy that struck their community this week.

Sometimes the tips I give are not just about saving space in your RV but for RVer’s  in general which is the case this week.

IMPORTANT TIP:  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so please be sure to call and schedule your mammogram this month.  Hense the title for the newsletter!  While breast cancer is much more prominent in women, it also affects men (they are 100 times less likely to be diagnosed than women).  And guys reading this, please advise your spouse, girlfriend, sister, mother, aunts and nieces to schedule theirs as well.  Caught early, it is very curable in most cases.  So please don’t put it off.

Reader Tips:  As one of our faithful readers, Danise sent in some great tips to share.

Have been doing some down-sizing/ fall cleaning in my RV and came across a couple of things that made me think I should share.

 1.  We all need more storage, particularly in small bathrooms, eh?  Both of us are short so we can get away with this…. we got a 2nd small medicine chest (from Ikea) and put up on the blank wall above the potty.    Gives us a bit of extra space and also a 2nd mirror.  I store my tall hair spray, medicated talc powder, a couple of other tall items there, and with the small space above that, I store the chemicals I need for the potty. I can use the original cabinet above the sink  with 3 shorter spaces for smaller items.

This might also work for some of you.  http://www.amazon.com/products-3772w-cabinet-toilet-shelving/dp/b000h8u51o?tag=indifash06-20.  (Gail)

   2.  I use mini bungie cords and very small eye screws in this extra space to hold the tall containers in place, and a narrow plastic basket on the upper shelf to hold the chemicals.

 Danise

Thanks so much for sharing Danise.  These are all great ideas and ones I’m sure a lot of us can use.  Do you have tips to share?  Please email me at rvspacesavers@gmail.com

SAFETY TIP:  Be sure to keep track of the age and wear of your tires.   And keep them covered when you are sitting in a park or they are parked in your yard.   Here is a great article on tire safety.     http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/how-old-and-dangerous-are-your-tires.html.   When buying tires for any vehicle know how to check the date codes as there have been several places selling “new” 8-12 year old tires!

We are on the road heading for the Best RV Show http://www.thebestrvshow.com/.  It is being held in Pomona, CA at the Fairplex October 9-18th.  I will be giving seminars every day on Space Saving Tips and one on Living in Your RV.  Hope if you plan to attend you will stop by our booth and attend one of the seminars.  The weather down I-5 is gorgeous with the trees donning their autumn colors.  When we travel from point A to  point B, we sometimes stay overnight at Wal-Mart but always call ahead to make sure it is OK.  This trip every Wal-Mart in Oregon we have called has told us that new City ordinances forbid overnight parking.  Wal-Mart is still fine with it but told us to expect a knock on the door from the police.  This is exactly what has ruined it for those of us who don’t abuse the privilege. This was parked at a rest stop 20 miles north of the California border.  Bikes and junk sitting out all around the camper.  No state workers in sight so have no idea how long they have been there.  I totally understand that with this economy, people are hurting and they do need a place to stay but this can’t be safe for anyone.

New Product:  We have been having so much fun with this new product. Laser Lights can be used in tons of different ways.

Laser Lights from RV Space Savers

We first bought them to use in our booth as a way to be recognized in a long row of vendors and we continue to use them for that.  However, we had so many requests to sell them that we now carry them and have done some other fun things with them.  While they are not to be used in inclement weather, we use them in RV Parks to shine up in the trees at night or on the side of the motor home (people comment that they look like fire flies).  We have had reports of people using them inside on their Christmas trees, for  light shows in an auditorium, in an exercise class, at parties and outdoor functions and for something for their cats to play with.  https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=151

Great Places To Visit:  Our friend Danise reports a new “Great Place to Visit” and one I am anxious to see.  It is called the 9/11 Spirit of America Memorial in Cashmere, WA.  She has had the pleasure of visiting the new site and says it is well worth going out of your way to see.  Here are a couple of links about the Memorial. http://www.911spiritofamericamemorial.com/  and http://www.king5.com/story/news/local/2015/05/11/town-gets-911-memorial-the-state-didnt-want/27155383/.
