Celebrate Spring With Savings from RV Space Savers

It’s Spring…let’s just hope that Mother Nature agrees with spring weather all over the country.  Many of us in areas that had a long winter are more than ready.  Things are slowly beginning to bloom but downtown Seattle is way ahead of our area. One of our favorite things about spring is

California Avocado Season which starts April 1st.

We so love to be in southern California during this time.  We eat an avocado almost every day either by itself or in or on something and we love my Pomegranate Guacamole and have it as long as we can get the arils.  I love to try new things with avocados and found this recipe on the California Avocado Commission’s site and they have tons of great recipes.  http://www.californiaavocado.com/http://www.californiaavocado.com/.  Here is a recipe I will be trying this week.  CALIFORNIA AVOCADO BALELA.   I will be using the following RV Space Saver Tools to make this side dish.  Tools: Tomato Tool to cut the tomatoes; Prep Colander to drain peas and beans; Salsa Maker to chop the onions, parsley and mint; Avocado Tool to cut, remove pit and chop the avocado; reuse the Salsa Maker to make the dressing; Fiskie to stir everything together; Magnetic Measuring Spoons for measuring the spices; and  (3 qt.  bowl and collapsible measuring cups..no longer available)  All but the last 2 items can be purchased on  our website at https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home.

To celebrate the start of the California Avocado Season and spring we are offering a great  20% off sale on all things avocado sold at RV Space Savers…Order nowLimited Supply while supplies last or April 30th. Order this special and receive FREE recipes directly from the California Avocado Commission.  https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=173.

TIP: And this is a great site for anyone with eating allergies.  I use it quite a lot for Mike.  http://www.eatingwithfoodallergies.com/

Many of us remember Grandma’s Rice Pudding…I sure do and loved it way back then. Thanks Danise for sending this recipe along.  How fun it will be to make it once again. Thanks Danise.

No One Will Ever Get Bored Of Grandma’s Old Fashioned Custard Style Rice Pudding!

Important TIP:  In the last newsletter I gave you a couple of important articles to read about the upcoming tick season.  Here is a recipe for a repellent that might be helpful.  Tick Repellent  http://usefultipsforhome.com/outdoor/1-simple-tip-keep-ticks-off-summer-long/.  Or you might try this:  To make a home remedy tick repellent, simply mix about two ounces or so of tea tree oil with water. It is a very strong agent, so make sure that the amount of water exceeds the oil, but not by a lot. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and spray on yourself and your family.  Be sure to check your pets often too.

Great Places to Visit:  The Most Scenic Roads in America.  This article was in the Passport America newsletter and I thought I would pass it along for all to enjoy.  http://www.businessinsider.com/americas-best-road-trips-2017-3.

Happy Valentine’s Day from RV Space Savers.

We have been in lots of parks that have Valentine parties, activities or dances which can be fun.  We hope you have a wonderful day where ever you are and whatever you do to make it special.

Know Before you Go  We still seem to be getting nasty weather in a lot of the country and pray that you all stay safe. Be sure to check the long range forecast for what area you plan to visit to hopefully know what is on the horizon weather wise.   Living in an RV  hopefully you can rearrange your plans or get out of an area before things get bad and travel to an area where things are better.

Tip from reader Danise:  Some of you may be planning a trip to Alaska or through the Canadian Provinces this summer and you may want to read this article and see if there is anything you need to be aware of and have in place before you trip.  Thanks so much for sharing Danise.  Know Before you Tow.  www.rvwest.com.  Search under articles for RV Tips and Tricks Know Before you Tow Regulations for towing in Canada and the US.  I tried to link the article but it wouldn’t allow me to.

Money Saving Tip from a Gentleman in line at Kroger:   I was visiting with a guy in line at Kroger a few weeks ago  and he had 2 of these Mistro Olive Oil Sprayers

he was purchasing.  He said he had borrowed one from a friend and fell in love with it so he was purchasing one for himself and one for his sister as a gift.  He said you can use any kind of oil in it and it saves a ton of money rather than purchasing cooking sprays that may be filled with things you’ve never heard of!  I also bough one and we are really liking it.  Mike can only have Canola or olive oil and we have tried both in the mister and so much cheaper than the canned cooking spray.

Great Space Saving Tip:  A hanging utensil rack made out of an old wooden paper towel holder.  Here are the directions.  http://www.hometalk.com/13774385/diy-rotating-cooking-utensil-storage-rack.  Sure would help save counter space.

Products I used the most this week:  Always the number one item is the Salsa Maker which I used to make guacamole for a Super Bowl Party, chop veggies for a soup and turn canned chopped tomatoes into puree for Swiss steak; 3 qt. bowl as I made a different kind of Norwegian Bread (so easy): measuring duo to heat the milk and bloom the yeast. I jut mixed everything together with the small fiskie.  And any time I make most things I use the collapsible measuring cups, magnetic spoons, silicone spatulas, food safety paring knives and the oven mitt.   Find these products and many more at  rvspacesavers.com.   https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=common/home.

What RV Space Saver products have you used this week?  Let us know at rvspacesavers@gmail.com..

Here is the recipe for the Nutritious Norwegian Bread which is so easy to make.  Makes great toast and is very hearty.

  https://mydearkitcheninhelsinki.com/2014/11/21/fjellbrod-a-nutritious-norwegian-bread/.

The only thing I did different was  used almond milk and  added 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds..  TIP:  When you sprinkle some of the seeds on top be sure to press them into the dough well before baking.

CloseOut Sale:  Oven Mitt.

Regularly $14.00  On sale now only $10.00  while supplies last.  Hurry (only 3 left)

Great Places to Visit:  I ran across this article in the Passport America newsletter and thought “well how fun would this be?”  The Map of the World’s Longest Highway would certainly be the ultimate road trip.  Doesn’t sound like something you would want to do in your RV but what an adventure.  I had never heard of it.  Here is the article which I thought was pretty interesting.  https://www.inverse.com/article/27356-map-worlds-longest-highway-ultimate-road-trip.

This would take you on the JOURNEY of a lifetime and I thin it is one where you would be holding a lot of maps and making lots of memories.  Until our next journey together… “All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.”  Martin Buber

Hello from Seaside, Oregon. Seaside, Oregon Seaside, a beautiful coastal community has historically been one of the Oregon Coast’s most visited and popular oceanfront resorts and is located only 80 miles from Portland. There are lots of activities around the area besides walking on the beach and is close to the winter home of the Lewis and Clark Expedition at Fort Clatsop.  A fun place to spend some time.  We are here with several RV friends for 2 weeks of sightseeing, morning coffee and goodies, 4 p.m. cocktails and snacks and sometimes either dinner or dessert! Living and traveling in an RV is the best life ever with lots of great food, new recipes, laughs, games and visiting with friends and meeting new ones.

Great Tip:  30 Awesome things to do in retirement.  Many of us living and traveling in an RV are retired or at least semi-retired.  This list may give you some ideas of ways to spend your time whether while you’re traveling or sitting in a warm spot during the winter or cool spot during the summer. The list of ideas are endless…use your creativity.  Here are 2 great lists. http://www.moneytalksnews.com/slideshows/30-awesome-things-retirement/?all=1.     http://earlyretirementextreme.com/wiki/index.php?title=Long_list_of_things_to_do_when_you_retire

Tip:  Keep tabs on the stuff in your freezer!  We just had to replace our Norcold fridge and chose to purchase a residential one that would fit in the space. It not only gave us another 3.5 cubic feet of fridge and freezer space but weighs one hundred pounds less and was an easy install.  It also gave us a chance to really sort through things in both the fridge and freezer and get rid of things that we had forgotten and had become freezer burned or out of date.   I found this article online and thought it was worth sharing.  Ways to keep foods from freezer burning.  http://tiphero.com/avoid-freezer-burn/?

A Tip Worth Trying:  I have used Scrubbing Bubbles in the shower for years and it does a great job but it is not cheap and of course has chemicals in it.  I saw this the other day and am certainly going to try it. dawnvinegar I keep both products in the RV so I don’t have to purchase anything to try it and IF it works, I will save both space and money.    http://tiphero.com/2-ingredient-shower-cleaner/?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hyX_-Qev7o.

Fall brings on the colors of warm and smells of autumn and of course the beautiful pumpkin colors and flavors.  For one of our meals with our group this week I made Pumpkin Pie Squares which always says fall to me.  I used 3 of our products to make them…the Salsa Maker, Small Fiskie and the 3 quart collapsible bowl.  To find these products go here  https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=35   To get the recipe go here  file:///C:/Users/Gail/Documents/Recipes/Pumpkin%20Pie%20Squares.pdf.

seattlejapanesegarden_21_web-mFall is certainly in the air and even some snow has been reported in the mountain states! One of the wonderful things about being in the Northwest in the fall is the stunning colors of the different maples.  Some day we hope to get back east to see the breathtaking fall colors there which are so different than those in the west.  Where ever you are I hope you are enjoying beautiful fall weather and colors unique to each area.

Fall means different things to RVer’s.  Some travel in them all summer and put them to bed each winter, some do the opposite and get them out of storage to spend winter  down south in the warmer weather and those who live in their RV full time start thinking about slowly heading south before the weather gets too bad and some don’t leave until after the holidays.  No matter what your style of RVing is, fall is time to get the RV in shape for whatever is next for you.  For us, since we have been in the Pacific Northwest all summer, it means cleaning and organizing inside and out: cabinets, bays, and toad to make sure everything is ready for our trip south. For many others it is cleaning and organizing to put it to bed for the winter.

GREAT TIP: Fall also means that mice, spiders, mud daubers and wasps are looking for warm places to build their nests.  Earthkind has several products and great articles under their Learning section about ways to control these pests. http://www.earthkind.com/learning-center/control-mice, and http://www.earthkind.com/learning-center/control-spiders. And Amazon as well as many RV Parts stores have screens to cover furnace and other openings to keep out wasps and daubers.  https://www.amazon.com/JCJ-M-300-furnace-Outside-Fitting/dp/B00076WQBS.  Better to protect yourself before a problem arises.

Some Great Cleaning Tips: Here are 27 cleaning tips for things you may have wondered how best to clean.  Some don’t apply to RV’s but many of them do. http://tiphero.com/27-hard-to-clean-things-solved/?utm_source=Tip+Hero+Newsletter&utm_campaign=58000b6fcd-TH_NL_530_08_23_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_5665396f02-58000b6fcd-1216341

TIP on New Credit Cards: Why You Shouldn’t Swipe the New Chip Credit Cards.  http://tiphero.com/how-to-use-chip-credit-cards/?utm_source=Tip+Hero+Newsletter&utm_campaign=58000b6fcd-TH_NL_530_08_23_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_5665396f02-58000b6fcd-1216341 I found this article very interesting not only as a consumer but as a business owner.  By now we all have the new credit cards with chips in them.  According to Good Housekeeping if you can’t use the chip pay cash or watch your card closely.  We as a small business get fined IF we don’t have the new technology.  Be sure to click on the link to Good Housekeeping within the article.

A Money Saving TIP:  We love and use lots of cilantro both fresh in things like guacamole but also in  cooking.  Since many Farmers Markets still have fresh cilantro fairly inexpensively, I purchase quite a  bunch and use some fresh to make guacamole and chop the rest in the  Salsa Maker (one  of my favorite gadgets https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=131), put on a paper towel and wrap in 2 thicknesses of foil and then in a Ziplock bag and freeze for use in cooking. Talk about good cooking and I always have it on hand.

Greeting from RV Space Savers.  I always think I am going to do this newsletter on the same day of the week and it seems something always comes up that I can’t make that happen.  Since retiring, I will say that if I get a chance to spend time during the day with friends or family, I am always going to choose that over all the things that seem to make it on my never ending “To Do” list!

While I am always on the look out and researching ways to make living and traveling in an RV easier and clutter free, I appreciate all of you who send in your tips and ideas of things that work for you.

TIP from reader:

If you are like me, as a full-timer you find your closet too full most of the time. Consequently, when you pull out a top or dress hanging there it will have closet wrinkles. My favorite tool for dealing with wrinkles is Downy Wrinkle Release spray. You lightly spray the garment, smooth it with your hands, and let it hang for a few minutes. It really works—smooths those wrinkles right out and no need to drag out the iron and ironing board just for a quick press job. I love it!  Thanks Pat…what a great idea.  I sure will be trying this great tip.

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Independence Day.  Ours was very enjoyable spent with great friends and thankfully very few fireworks as it scares the animals.  I can’t believe summer is already on the downhill slide!  It is my favorite time of year and oh how we love the fresh fruit in Washington where we are able to buy it direct from the fields and farms so it is picked ripe and fresh.  Sadly the berry season has ended except for blueberries.  But we are still getting lots of fresh cherries, nectarines and peaches.

Two Yummy Recipes I tried while camping with friends and the tools I used to make and serve them.

Pumpkin Dip

1 13 oz. can pumpkin, 1 cup Philadelphia cream cheese,  1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8th teaspoon nutmeg.  I mixed everything together with the fiskie and served in a collapsible bowl.  I served it with graham crackers and granny smith apple slices.  This makes a lot so you may want to make a half a batch, depending on how many you are serving.

Avocado Crunch

1 ripe avocado, juice of half a lime, 2 teaspoons shelled sunflower seeds, sea salt to taste.  I made a double batch so I used the Salsa Maker, Lemon/lime squeezer, measuring spoons and guacamole bowl to serve it in.  I served it with chips.

Both were a huge hit.

Starting our trek back to Washington for the summer and I-5 is a beautiful drive for the most part.  The nut trees are loaded with nuts, olive trees full of olives, vines have lots of tiny clusters of grapes and rice paddies full of water.  And the oleander is in full bloom.  Can’t get much better than that.

.  Since northern California has gotten some much needed rain it is much greener than the southern part of the state.  We stopped to do the Northern California Good Sam Sambroee in Lodi and enjoyed seeing friends we have met there in years past.  Sadly their organization is getting smaller as most organizations are so they only had 123 rigs.  We had a great time and enjoyed it very much.  We also attended the Lodi Street Fair on Sunday which was fun and met some very nice people.  And outside of Washington strawberries,

Northern California Strawberries

Lodi has some of the best so of course we couldn’t pass them up!  We stayed at the Thousand Trails Turtle Beach RV Park in Menteca and it is such a beautiful park, very well kept and the staff is amazing.  It has become our favorite and sits right on the San Joaquin River…a gorgeous spot in the world.

Today’s Tip:  This tip comes from reader Danise and is one that is a very important reminder.  A really great tip for those of us living in an RV  or when traveling.  THIS IS A GREAT IDEA I AM HAPPY TO SHARE WITH YOU! READ TO THE END. IT HAS ANOTHER GREAT IDEA FOR SENIORS.

What to take to bed with you – not a joke.
Pretty neat idea. Never thought of it before.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

Car Keys

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr’s office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It’s a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.

If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won’t stick around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won’t want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can’t reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn’t hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she’ll know there’s a problem.  Please pass this on even IF you’ve read it before. It’s a reminder.

Thanks so much for sharing Danise.  You always send in such great tips. And we love getting tips from our readers.

I was informed by one of our readers that on the Underrated Places to Vist in All 50 States, I added the wron link.  Here is the correct link.  I am so sorry.  https://www.thrillist.com/travel/nation/most-underrated-place-in-california-florida-texas-new-york-and-every-us-state/travel

Greetings from Wilderness Lakes RV Park in Menifee, CA.  The weather has been gorgeous here and we left Yuma just in time as they were headed for triple digits right after we left.  We so enjoyed all four rallies in Yuma, greeting old friends and meeting many new ones.  The rally masters all did a great job and we look forward to joining them again. Two of the rallies, The FMA (Fleetwood)

and the Freightliner Rallies

really went all out with their decorations.

Freightliner 50’s and 60’s Theme

Three of the rallies were held at Fortuna de Oro and the Recreation Director, Desiree is amazing to work with.  The park has all kinds of decorations onsite and you can borrow any of them.   So if anyone is thinking about having a rally in the area, Fortuna de Oro would be a great place.

Since we have been on the go so much, I haven’t had much time to devote to the newsletter but wanted to pass along some links for tips and ideas that I thought you might enjoy.

TIP: I thought this was a great tip to share with everyone as it helps keep our many electronic devices safer.  Idenity theft is the fastest growing crime and has gone up over 1000% so it pays to do everything you can to keep safe.

http://blog.protectmyid.com/2016/04/13/calling-all-digital-packrats-spring-clean-your-devices-to-avoid-identity-theft/

Another TIP:   This is in conjunction with the tip above on phishing.. http://blog.protectmyid.com/2016/02/10/phishers-and-phrauds-how-to-spot-em/

TIP on Fresh Water Tank:  I had read this several years ago and we have used this practice since that time.  For the most part we hook up to the water in RV parks but when we are traveling, we want to make sure our water is fresh to use.  It takes Mike several hours to complete the entire process and he does it about every 3 months.  http://rving.how/get-your-fresh-water-tank-sanitized/

Great TIP:  Many of us use lots of lemons (and limes) and of course being in southern California during the season, they are everywhere for cheap so I thought you might enjoy a way to use those peels.  I always keeps some grated lemon peel frozen to toss in dressings, sauces, marinades and rice.  http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/uses-for-lemon-peels-including-lemon-vinegar-2.html#.VxV33jArLIU

IMPORTANT NOTE: In the March 27th newsletter I talked a lot about avocados as the California avocados are back in season.  I can’t remember if I talked about grating some of the pit in your guacamole but wanted to give you this heads-up I got from the California Avocado Association about NOT doing that so I wanted to be sure and pass it on.   Fallbrook, CA is the avocado capital of the world and last Sunday they had their avocado festival which we attended.  It was a fun day and lots of things dealing with avocados.  One of the vendors makes beautiful things from the avocado wood

Serving board made from avocado wood

…I bought some gorgeous coasters.  Also I visited with a grower/packer about which are the best avocados (taste wise).  He said the Hass is the most popular but not the tastiest.  Here are photos of his first two recommendations.  Number 1 is The Fuerte

Number 1 avocado Fuerte

which is a fall to early spring variety and Number 2 is the Reed

2nd best flavor…the Reed

which is round and about the size of a softball and is a summer variety.   Most growers are moving to only Hass as they have good handling properties and are long lasting.  There are about 500 varieties of avocados but only seven are grown in California.  Of course we bought a box while at the festival and my are they yummy!  He also had “freaks”

Freaks

which you don’t eat that are crosses between 2 different kinds of trees that have self propagated and they do everything they can to rid their groves of these.  trees http://www.californiaavocado.com/blog/march-2016/is-it-safe-to-eat-the-avocado-seed?utm_source=cac&utm_medium=EMC&utm_campaign=plantaseed2016.

Great Places To Visit:  The Most Underrated Places to Visit in All 50 States.  I thought this was a fun article and as we all travel it is fun to make some of these places a stop over, a destination or just a fun place to visit.  Do you have any other suggestions for underrated places you have visited?  https://rvspacesavers.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=89

Another Great Place to Visit:  Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach.

Shaw’s Cove

We spent some time here one day this week and it is a beautiful and uncrowded beach which has it all…a sandy beach and tide pools at low tide.  http://www.californiabeaches.com/beach/shaws-cove/

Tomorrow we start our slow trek back to Washington State.  We will be in Lodi for the Good Sam Sambroee the end of  the month and are excited to see friends we have met there in years past.  Our plans are to be back in the Seattle area by mid-May.  Hopefully the weather will hold as it has been beautiful up there and neither one of us are ready for the rain!

We love hearing from you and if you have tips, great places to visit or other ideas you would like to see in this newsletter, please contact us.  rvspacesavers@gmail.com

May your road be smooth and your travels happy and exciting.

P.S.  I just got this IMPORTANT notice on a recall of frozen vegetables and wanted to pass it along.  http://patch.com/new-york/riverhead/s/fpok4/frozen-vegetable-recall-in-ny-serious-sometimes-fatal-contamination-risk-cited?utm_source=alert-breakingnews&utm_medium=email&utm_term=community%20corner&utm_campaign=alert

Tips and Ideas from RV Space Savers

Sorry I missed last week’s newsletter.  I ended up with that “crud” that’s going around right after the show in Las Vegas.  Finally feeling human again and now Mike has it!  In talking to other attendees and exhibitors at the show, it sounds like a lot of people ended up with it so obviously there were folks there spreading it around to the masses! 🙁  It was quite an experience and as I think I told you there was over 2 million square feet of exhibit space…easy to get overwhelmed.  Lots of things we’ve never seen before (and probably won’t ever again!), and lots of things depending on what kinds of products you were looking for.  We were a little disappointed there wasn’t more kitchen gadgets but were told those items are pretty much limited to the big kitchen shows in New York, Chicago and Atlanta. Maybe a trip in my future!

NEW TIP:  Clean, Organize and Re-Stock Your Medicine Cabinet This Spring.  Remove everything and check expiration dates.  Discard everything that is outdated or you no longer use and make a list of the things you need to purchase.  Wipe down the inside of the cabinet before reloading things.  Many of you have attended my seminars and know I talk about the trick of putting magnets on the inside of the medicine cabinet door.  Do not buy magnetic tape as the magnet is not strong enough to hold things while you are moving.  Purchase some good strong magnets and 3M Scotch Brand Extreme Indoor/Outdoor mounting tape (sold at most big box stores).  Mount as many as you feel you need and let sit for 24 hours before loading.  This is a great place to  keep metal tweezers, clippers, nail files, hair clips, pins, needles, etc., within reach that are so easy to lose!  Anytime you can clean and organize you are saving space.

Also, if you didn’t do this after reading about it in a previous newsletter, do the same to your First Aid Kit…now while you’re gathering items to restock your medicine cabinet.

A good and easy way to remember to do these things is to schedule them in conjunction with something else so when Spring arrives (or whatever) it jogs your memory to do these things.

Also here are a couple of ideas I read about and thought were worth sharing.  Storing Plastic Bags…I have shared with you about putting them in empty tissue boxes to save space.  Here is a great way to fold them to get even more of them in a box.  They call it a “football” fold…I have also heard it called a “flag” fold.  http://www.thriftyfun.com/Storing-Plastic-Bags-Using-Football-Fold.html

Ways to Get rid of Clutter.  We talk a lot about this in my seminars and in the newsletter.  I believe that especially in a small space you need a “Place for Everything and Everything in Its Place.”  http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf/Organizing/Clutter_Control/Getting-Rid-of-Clutter.html.  Being in an RV for weeks or months at a time or living full time in your RV, these these are all so important.

New Products:  As I told you a couple of weeks ago, I had hoped to add some new products but am still having trouble getting the photos from our supplier.  She has promised them this coming week.

Still on Sale:  Both sizes of silicone spatulas and the wine opener.  Still just $5.00 each.  Only have a few left.

Great Places to Visit:  While in Las Vegas we had time for one day of sightseeing and anytime we are in Vegas, a Must See is the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio Hotel.  While we were there it was decorated for the Chinese New Year…the Year of the Red Monkey.  It was so beautiful.  https://www.bellagio.com/en/entertainment/conservatory-botanical-garden.html#/Past%20Shows.

Chinese New Year at the Bellagio

The Year of the Red Monkey

It is now decorated for Spring.  The other MUST SEE at the Belllagio is the World’s Tallest Chocolate Fountain.  https://www.bellagio.com/en/restaurants/jean-phillipe.html.  It is over 26 feet tall and circulates 2 tons of dark, milk and while chocolate at the rate of 120 quarts per minute through 500 feet of stainless steel pipes into beautiful glass bowls and mixing together.

The World’s Tallest Chocolate Factory.

For all us chocolate lovers, it would be a dream come true to have the key to it and a spoon!

The Mob Museum

The other place we visited was the Mob Museum which is very well done and chock-full of information (3 full floors) about the early days of the Mafia and the families spread out throughout cities across America and how they got their start in Vegas.  We met someone years ago who had been an undercover agent for the FBI and helped take down one of the famous crime families so the place was quite interesting to us.  It even shows the escape route of El Chapo not too long ago.

One of the oldest Slot Machines

When you pay to park, you are allowed 3 hours and you can certainly spend that amount of time there.  A pleasant change from all the glitz, glitter and noise of the strip.

 http://themobmuseum.org/.

We have had several successful seminars at RV Parks here in the Palm Springs area and a couple of demonstrations of some of our products.  The park is really emptying out.  Not sure whether it’s just that time of year or people are trying to escape the heat (or some of both).  It has been in the mid 90’s for quite a while and they are saying that is unseasonably warm for this time of year.  Next Monday we head to Yuma for 3 weeks for 3 rallies and I’m sure it’s going to be as warm there also.  Thank goodness for air conditioners!

Safe and happy travels and Happy Spring until next time.

As we have told you all many, many times, RV Space Savers is a huge military supporter and we donate a portion of every sale to help military families.   Sadly last week in the news we found out that the money being sent to one of the charities is being spent on things other than our Wounded Warriors and their families so we have stopped our donations to that organization for the time being and will continue to donate to others we support and look into new ones.
